Jane Hogan is set to increase the profile of food and drink producers, sellers and hospitality businesses across the North East of England. She has been appointed as the new Business Development Manager at Taste North East and her role is to find new markets for and to support any food or drink-based businesses in the North East to reach their full potential – from those who grow and make to those that sell, prepare or serve food and drink.
Demand for regional food high as consumers go local
Consumers are very interested in buying local food in the North East of England and this is having a knock-on effect, meaning that more local food is available at shops and supermarkets in the North East of England.
Wallington Morpeth Food and Craft Festival
More than 20,000 people attended a Wallington Food and Craft Festival at the National Trust property near Morpeth. There were 65 salls selling top-quality locally produced food, as well as drink and crafts. This along with the warm weather meant that crowds flocked to the event.
Taste North East welcomes first hospitality member
Food and drink group Taste North East has welcomed Thistleyhaugh bed and breakfast and catering near Longhorsley, Northumberland to the table.
Thistleyhaugh is the group’s first hospitality member.
Food and craft festival feeds public’s appetite for going local
The Wallington Food and Craft Festival will take place on October 15-16. this is the 6th festival and it will include more than 65 producers teaming up with North East England chef of the year David Kennedy.
