Energyshare has announced that the Hexham Hydro Project will receive a £100,000 prize. More than 900 community groups competed for the funding it in an online ballot. Hexham Hydro had more than 3,880 supporters which meant they were able to secure a 30.4% share of the vote – 750 votes ahead of the next closest project.

The Hexham River Hydro Project group is leading the way to win funding from Energyshare. The funding would be used to construct a small in the River Tyne near the town. Energyshare will provide more than £100,000 to the winner.
