A fascinating new exhibition contrasting the grandeur of a castle with tiny figures is set to open soon. Tiny Tales will feature tiny figures revealing the intricate and unusual history of Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island, running from Sept. 8 to Nov. 4.

History fans and young ones keen on the Vikings will have a chance to experience some real Viking history next week when Viking Week takes place at Lindisfarne, Holy Island, Northumberland. There will be lots of events and activities to acknowledge the storming of the island, which took place more than 1000 years ago.

A trip to Lindisfarne Castle was extra special for one family when they encountered a wise old owl peeking through one of the windows. A mother and children had quite a surprise on a trip to Lindisfarne Castle recently. Staff asked them to keep their eyes open for an owl on the National Trust’s Hallowe’en trail. But they were shocked to have an encounter with a real owl sitting on a window ledge and peaking through a window!
