Beginning with the Great North Run this coming weekend, there will be a great range of events and festivals taking place in Newcastle this autumn and winter, including Juice and BBC Radio 3 Free Thinking. We also look ahead to 2013, and highlight the arrival of the Lindisfarne Gospels in Durham, and the British Science Festival which will be hosted by Newcastle.
The food and drink producers from across North East England will come together later this month to show off their talents to buyers. They will gather at the Top Quality Local Produce 2012 at the Marriott hotel Gateshead on February 29.
The branding which has been used for almost a decade to promote the North East of England across the UK and around the world has been bought by the NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI). The organisation bought the logo, branding and domain name of the Passionate People Passionate Places campaign for £2,500 on behalf of other tourism partners across the North East.
