History and battle fans will be pleased to learn that a special re-eneactment will take place next month. Important parts of the Battle of Flodden, which took place in 1513, will be played out at Etal village, near the battlefield site, on August 3 and 4. They will be the first ever re-enactment scenes from the battle that changed the course of British and European history.
Fans of history re-enactment will be excited to learn that a re-enactment group will be on hand in North Northumberland at Etal at the beginning of September. A Living History camp in the Etal’s walled garden will be created to illustrate many things from the 1500s, including costumes, cookery and grooming. Weaponry displays drill techniques will take place, too.
