The Cycle PaD – Power to your Pedal in Northumberland 2013
Northumberland National Park has been supporting the development of countryside cycling resources from Hadrian’s Wall to Wooler over the past few years. Now, all that information accessible via a click with the launch of The Cycle PaD, a one-stop online knowledge shop bringing together everything cyclists might need to know about Northumberland. It will give a central point for the wealth of cycling equipment and event providers, routes and guides that our beautiful National Park and the county has to offer.
Once Brewed Centre’s winning ways used to train new Northumberland National Park visitor ambassadors
Staff at Once Brewed National Park Centre in Northumberland were winners at the prestigious North East England Tourism awards after collecting the prize for Best Information Provider Award. Now, they are set to train a new group of Visitor Ambassadors. The new staff are being recruited to be out and about in the park during the 2013 season.

BBC’s Sky At Night unveils the Sir Patrick Moore Observatory at The Kielder Observatory
The largest observatory at Kielder has been renamed The Sir Patrick Moore Observatory, after the famous astronomer who died in late 2012. The renaming was done by members of the BBC’s Sky at Night programme and members of the local Astronomical Society. It was done while the BBC was filming a programme for the series at Kielder.

Award-winning costumes take centre stage at Woodhorn, Northumberland

The Border Uplands is an important part of the park and home to a great and vibrant range of plants and animals. The scheme will aim to improve environmental networks and give the area a much better chance at thriving.
