Northumberland Wildlife Trust will be responsible for some wild goings-on this half-term.
Head to Jesmond Dene, Newcastle, and take part in an afternoon of raft building with the People & Wildlife Team and then race your completed raft down the Ouseburn on Thursday 7 June between 1.00pm – 3.00pm.
The event, which is being sponsored by The People’s Postcode Lottery, is always popular with school children and adults alike, so book early to avoid disappointment; call Laura Lowther at the Trust on 0191 284 6884 to secure your place. There is a suggested donation of £2.50 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult.
If raft building doesn’t ‘float your boat’ then head to Weetslade Country Park, just North of Gosforth Park, Newcastle on Saturday 9 June and learn how to make and fly your own kite.
The session starts at 1.00pm with a second session starting at 2.00pm. There is no need to book but, as with the Jesmond Dene event, children must be accompanied by an adult.
