The 2011 Northumberland National Park Forum will take a hard look at where the authority should be targeting its reduced resources in the coming year.
Interested groups and individuals are invited to participate and give their views at the forum, set for November 9 in Rothbury Jubilee Hall at 6pm.
There will be a series of themed workshops covering how to meet the challenges in five areas of the authority’s work.
The workshops will cover:
- Neighbourhood Planning
- Supporting Businesses and Communities
- Securing the Value of Nature in Northumberland National Park
- The Future of Tourism
- Securing Rural Services in the National Park
The evening will begin with the results of the first National Park Awards. These will recognise people and organisations for their contribution towards helping deliver the aims of the National Park Management Plan which are to be: a Welcoming Park; a Distinctive Place; a Living-Working Landscape for now and in the future; with Thriving Communities. A fifth award will acknowledge an outstanding contribution over the long term.
The National Park Forum is also an opportunity to meet the authority’s board members, to ask questions and make them aware of issues or opportunities.
As places are limited, anyone who would like to attend should e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01434 611552 before October 28, 2011. A light buffet and refreshments will be provided.
