The LOVE Northumberland campaign is launching a photo competition to find the amateur snapper who has captured on camera their favourite thing about the county.
Through the competition Northumberland County Council wants to raise awareness of what is great about the environment in the area, and what it wants to protect and enhance through the ‘LOVE Northumberland – Caring for our county’ campaign.
Entrants can upload their best shots to the council’s facebook page in a contest that could put them in with a chance of winning £50 worth of garden centre vouchers.
Councillor Isabel Hunter is executive member responsible for infrastructure and the environment at Northumberland County Council. She says: “We are really looking forward to seeing photos that show what residents feel is the very best about our county.
“These could be anything from an iconic place like Bamburgh Castle, Hadrian’s Wall or Seaton Delaval Hall, to a view from someone’s favourite walk or favourite picnic site. We are interested in anything that promotes Northumberland as a green, clean and beautiful place to live and visit – with a particular focus on the environment.”
The council would like to use the best pictures in future publications, online and in other communications to help promote the LOVE Northumberland campaign, and is also inviting everyone who enters the competition to sign up with their support.
A winning entry will be chosen to receive a £50 Garden Centre Group voucher.
To enter simply post your photo to the Northumberland facebook wall and tag yourself in the picture here: www.facebook.com/
For a chance to win you will also need to provide your details to say that you support the campaign here: www.northumberland.gov.uk/
If you don’t have access to facebook you can email your picture and details to communications@northumberland.
Entrants can send photos that include people, but must ensure they get their permission first.
