Kielder marks July with Sharp Shooters days, High Romps, and lots more activities

Enjoy high jinx on the High Ropes at Kielder this July

If activity is your thing there’s a whole host of activity taster days taking place at Calvert Trust Kielder over the summer. It’s your opportunity to try your hand at the activities on offer and experience a little taster session before booking a day or half day of the real thing. Every Sunday in July is Sharp Shooters Day – test your shooting and aiming skills with the laser clay pigeon and archery range. Mondays are Water Day where you can try canoeing or kayaking in a quiet inlet on Kielder Water; just perfect for beginners.

Each Wednesday this month is High Ropes Day. Tackle the hanging cargo net and dare to take the leap of faith. Finally, Fridays are Swing and Climb Day so come and brave the exhilarating King Swing or challenge the fantastic climbing wall.

Or why not get behind the scenes in the biggest working forest in the country. Working forest open days give you the chance to find out what goes on in Kielder Forest. You’ll get up close and personal with some monster machines.

Don’t forget there’s always a wide programme of mountain biking events too. And Kielder Observatory has a varied programme giving you plenty of star gazing opportunities.
