Northumberland Wildlife Trust

Northumberland Wildlife Trust has received two separate donations for its work at Prestwick Carr.

Carillion plc has donated £5,000 and Newcastle City Council, £4,000 for work including the installation of a viewing platform.

Prestwick Carr is an area covering 320 hectares straddling the border between Northumberland and the edge of urban Newcastle; it has long been an inspiration for naturalists and in contemporary times, an aspiration for those campaigning for large scale conservation sites for everyone to experience.

The project is being managed by Kevin O’Hara, Conservation Officer at Northumberland Wildlife Trust.
