Author to lead new teenage reading group

Local author and playwright Ann Coburn will be leading a new teenage reading group that is starting in Berwick Library in December.

Ann, a children’s novelist and playwright has written 20 children’s books and seven theatre plays and is currently tutoring on Newcastle University’s MA Creative Writing programme.

The first session of the group will take place at the library on Wednesday December 7 between 6-7pm and it will then meet on the third Wednesday of each month.

The group will focus on and discuss novels that were shortlisted for this year’s Carnegie Prize for an outstanding book for children and young people.

The group sessions are open to anyone between the ages of 12 and 15 and are free of charge.  For further information contact Berwick Library on Tel: 01289   334 051
