Other posts by  |  Sheelagh Caygill on Google+ |  December 27, 2011 | 0 Comments has broadened its focus to reflect user feedback and the travel patterns of visitors within and to the region.

Many people living in Newcastle-Gateshead regularly enjoy weekend breaks in Northumberland and the Borders. Meanwhile, visitors arriving by rail will often spend a day or two in the city and then explore Northumberland, the Borders or Durham.

The new site structure reflects these travel patterns and the real visitor experience.

In the coming weeks we will be adding more content about Newcastle-Gateshead and the wider area’s key attractions.

At the same time, the site’s name and area of coverage reflects the history of the region. Newcastle was once within the county of Northumberland.
