Businesses involved in tourism are encouraged to attend the next coast and country event which will focus on the Defence of the Realm.
At Elsdon Village Hall Beryl Charlton, archaeologist and historian will, peel back the layers of history in this ancient village. There will be a walk around the village green, church and buildings, with lunch at the Village Hall.
The afternoon will feature a trip up to The Mote Hills, described by historian Nikolaus Pevsner as ‘the finest earthwork castle in the county’. There will be a look at the new interpretation with Chris Jones, Northumberland National Park’s Archaeologist.
Later in the afternoon Duncan Wise discussing the Cyclone Event and other events supported by the National Park.
Coast and Country is a series of one-day events organised by Lesley Silvera.
The days help individuals learn more about what is on offer for tourists or people from the region. Attendees can learn about the landscape, geography and history, and also network and meet others who work in the tourism industry, or rely on visitors as part of their business.
