Caravan sites & camping
If Britain had an equivalent of ‘Big Sky Country’ Montana in the US, it would have to be Northumberland and the Borders. The wide open space is a joy to behold, especially when you’ve come from a crowded city or town! Even the roads are quite.
There is no better way to enjoy this wide open and fantastic landscape than camping. Camping and caravanning sites exist across Northumberland and the Scottish Borders and almost all are close to the market towns and attractions we have to offer.
Of course there are remote sites too, such as near Beadnell Bay, where you can enjoy coastal activities such as wind surfing, sailing or bird watching on our spectacular coastline.
If luxury camping is more your style, consider Glamping in a static caravan, a cabin, or a camping pod. You won’t have to worry about putting up your tent and you’ll be sheltered from any rain that may fall. But just remember, rainfall is certainly not as frequent as it is in the Lake District or Wales, because Northumberland and the Borders is one of the driest regions in the UK!
